I wasn't very good at English when I was 12. Despite having learned grammar for 6 years in school, I still couldn't use it. Nor could I understand a native English speaker.

What's changed since then?

I started watching a lot of English TV series and movies. I also started playing an English video game called Team Fortress 2. There, I had to use a lot of English when communicating with other players. Because of this, I started improving so quickly that when I was 15, I had a fluent conversation with my cousin from America for over 2 hours.

At 18, I passed an exam that placed my English at a near-native level (C1-C2) and passed my graduation exam from Slovak with an A.

My story is proof that doing exercises on paper and using rote learning doesn't do enough to improve your language skills.

The best way to improve your language skills is spending a lot of time with the language in the form of dialogues, stories, phrases. To learn a language, you need to see how it's used. See it in context and learn by reading and listening to dialogues, stories and phrases. After that, practice it by speaking with someone.

That's why I'll immerse you into English & Slovak with real-life examples, conversations & stories.
