“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

This is the question that we're asked countless times throughout the span of our lives, and our answers most often than not change and evolve with us as we grow.

In the first years of our lives, we often answer with a dreamy expression and an answer that is full of fantastic ideas and limitless possibilities. Whether it would be a wizard from the Harry Potter universe, a princess from the Disney movies, or a magical fairy from the Winx Club, there are no limits to what we could do and who we could become.

As children, our imaginations are boundless, and we envision ourselves taking on roles and professions that seem extraordinary and magical. We are not constrained by the realities and practicalities of the world, and our dreams are filled with a sense of wonder and pure possibility.

However, as we grow older and learn about the real world, our answers to this question often become more grounded in reality.

A lot of times we get inspired by the people around us, we choose our role models, whether it be our parents, teachers, people on TV etc., and we feel a sense of wonder. We ask ourselves what it would feel like to be like them.

As we grow older and our knowledge of the world expands, we may become more aware of societal expectations, parental expectations, or the need to live a certain lifestyle that feels more secure or fulfilling than our current situation. Some people may become overwhelmed by the multitude of decisions and the pressure to be successful, leading them to follow the expectations set before them rather than pursuing their own dreams.

Pursuing practical goals and a secure path is undoubtedly sensible, but we must be vigilant not to forsake our true passions and sources of joy in the process. The key is to strike a balance, cultivating a life where our deepest yearnings and our pragmatic aspirations coexist in harmony. By aligning our passion and our pragmatic goals, we can create a world that nourishes both our dreams and our need for stability.

So? How do we do this?

Firstly, we should understand that behind all dreams and aspirations, there is a certain kind of need that we all share. Regardless of whether your dream is to become a world-renowned scientist, an award-winning chef, or the lead vocalist in a chart-topping band, the underlying desire is the same: to find fulfillment, to contribute something meaningful to the world, and to live a life that is rich, purposeful, and authentically your own.

So it is only understandable to ask ourselves, what brings us the most excitement? What are we inherently drawn to and good at? What has been the activity that makes us lose track of time and leaves us feeling energized and inspired? That is the first question to ask ourselves.

We all have a gift in this world. Whether it is being a charming speaker, passionate artist, talented athlete, hardworking team member or compassionate caretaker, we all have something unique to offer.

In some way or the other we are all able to contribute to each other and titles or the size of our salary does not change the fact that we have something to offer by simply being here. It’s important not to forget this fact. We all differ in our life experiences, priorities, desires and capabilities, but the potential for meaningful contribution exists within each of us.

In my personal journey of finding the right path for me in which i could share my gifts and contribute to others, I had multiple options that seemed intriguing for me. But the underlining desire that connected them all, was my desire to help others.

I am deeply motivated by the opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives. I thrive on the sense of purpose, that comes from knowing my work is making a meaningful impact, even if on a small scale.

Initially, my parents' expectations had an impact on my considerations. Like many other parents, they encouraged me to pursue careers in medicine or law, both of which I contemplated. While healthcare is still a potential path, I recognise that I can’t sacrifice my passions merely to appease societal norms. Instead, I delved deeper to uncover my authentic callings. As a highly creative and sociable individual, I thrive on collaborating with others. My passions lie in the realms of art, writing, psychology and providing compassionate support to people when they need a listening ear.

And so a path of an artist welcomed me into a whole new world of possibilities. Using art as a way to educate, inspire or connect with others is a privilege i am infinitely grateful for and the reason why i started writing in the first place.

Being able to write in english fluently since a very young age has allowed me to connect with people all over the globe and my interest in psychology and understanding deeper human needs helped me share stories that resonate with others and make people feel seen and understood.

And that was when I discovered my true calling - my life's work - to uplift and empower others through the power of storytelling and artistic expression. To use my knowledge of psychology, and my skills of english language, to connect with others. To teach others the things i learned. I also realised, how important for me it was that in such a way, i could become a teacher.

And it wasn’t the first time i was in such a role. From a young age, I have consistently found myself in the role of a tutor, guiding my friends and classmates through challenging concepts and supporting them in completing their academic assignments. This passion for teaching has manifested in diverse ways, as I have led classes in subjects like English and math, as well as directed a drama group and a dance class. These experiences have been a steadfast part of my journey, underscoring my inherent inclination and enthusiasm for nurturing the growth and understanding of those around me.

I always wished to have a career that allowed me a sense of creative freedom as well as a sense of purpose and connection to people around me. Creating my own courses depending on the specific needs of my students allowed me to use my imagination and creativity to develop unique and engaging learning experiences. And seeing them progress and succeed in their academic endeavours gave me a deep sense of fulfilment and pride.

This is why I have chosen to embark on this tutoring journey. I am driven to share the knowledge I have been fortunate to acquire throughout my life, and to use my gift to help others learn valuable skills and grow in their academic and professional pursuits. Guiding and supporting the development of those around me is my true calling, as I aim to contribute positively to the world and the people around me.
